I am Yusuf Garba. I come from Jambutu in Yola North, Adamawa State. My life has been shaped by a conviction that people can build extraordinary things when knowledge, courage, opportunity and persistent work come together.
My Roots
My early education began in Jambutu and continued at Nyibango Primary School. I later attended Government Day Secondary School, Army Barracks, and Capital Government Day Secondary School in Yola. Those years grounded me in the realities, aspirations and resilience of the communities I now seek to represent.
My academic journey later took me into Computer Science and Economics. That combination continues to shape how I think about development: systems matter, incentives matter, institutions matter, and good ideas must ultimately improve people’s lives.
Technology and Professional Growth
I built my career in technology, gaining practical experience across cloud computing, web development, enterprise technology, cybersecurity, business process automation and digital transformation. My work exposed me to the challenge of helping organisations modernise, become more efficient and use technology to solve real operational problems.
Today, I serve as Chief Technology Officer of Velvot Nigeria Limited and as a co-founder of Velvot Group. Through this work, I have had the opportunity to participate in building ventures, serving organisations and creating platforms across multiple sectors.
Building Across Sectors
My entrepreneurial journey has expanded beyond technology into agribusiness, web services, hardware and solar, sports development and social impact. The wider group of ventures I have helped build includes:
- Velvot Nigeria Limited — technology, cloud, cybersecurity, enterprise solutions and digital transformation.
- Velvot Agribusiness Limited — focused on the agricultural value chain, from farms toward processing and value addition.
- Enrol Web Services Limited — web hosting, domains and website development services.
- Velvot Store Limited — technology hardware, electronics and solar-related solutions.
- Velvot Sports Academy Limited — sports development and pathways for young talent.
- Addamata Charity Foundation — social impact activities centred on welfare, healthcare support and education.
These experiences have reinforced one lesson: development is interconnected. Education affects jobs. Infrastructure affects business. Security affects investment. Agriculture affects food security and industry. Technology can multiply the impact of all of them.
Why Public Service?
I did not enter politics because I believe government alone can solve every problem. I entered because public policy, legislation, budgets, oversight and representation determine whether the efforts of citizens, businesses and communities are enabled or frustrated.
I am seeking to represent Yola North, Yola South and Girei because our constituency needs a representative who can listen locally, think strategically, work across institutions and keep the people informed. My ambition is to combine grassroots connection with professional execution and long-term development thinking.
My Promise of Representation
I will work for a constituency office that is accessible, data-driven and accountable. I will advocate for projects with clear community value, pursue partnerships that expand opportunity, contribute intelligently to legislation and national debate, and report back to the people regularly.
For me, 2027 is not simply about a seat. It is about helping build a new culture of representation — one that respects the intelligence of the people and matches ambition with work.
